FLORIDA KEYS GEOGRAPHY - The Keys island chain is long and narrow. We operate from Tavernier, on the northeast end of Plantation Key, the 2nd island down from the mainland. From here, it is roughly 25 miles northeast to the Jewfish Creek Bridge and about 35 miles northeast to the Card Sound Bridge on North Key Largo. These are the only highway entries to the Keys from the mainland. Mainland Monroe County is almost entirely mangrove forests and everglades accessible by shallow draft boat, airboat, swamp buggy or helicopter. In the other direction. it's about 50 miles southwest to the Seven Mile Bridge in Marathon and it's nearly 100 miles to Key West, the County Seat and the Keys' largest town, at the end of the Overseas Highway. Farther out, the Marquesas and the Tortugas are island groups accessible only by boat or seaplane. (see map on Contact Us page). Distance from the office and scope of work must be considered when calculating the cost of a particular job and whether acceptance is at all practical.

Who we are
My brother, Ken, and I have both worked as or for Surveyors pretty much ever since the 10th grade. Between us, at some point in our careers, we've done just about every type of Surveying job, all over the country and around the world: on land, underground, airborne, on and under the water. The Florida Keys have been my specialty since 1980, and Ken has worked with me here since 2000. Manager and sister-in-law, Beth Craft, has also worked with me since 2000. We are truly a family run operation. Contact us when you need a Surveyor in the Keys. Ken and I do the work, field to finish; we don't sub it out. There are none more experienced and knowledgeable in working with the unique conditions and history found in these islands.
